Search:

  1. Actual issue at company-organization
  2. There could also be similar issues at other companies.  How did they handle the situation?
  3. Company information- Parent, subsidiary. Franchise, Private or Public. More information about Public.
  4. Who are the executives/ employees involved. Are they still there?  Were they replaced? Look up information these people.
  5. Industry information- There could be more than one industry.
  6. What was the outcome and what do you recommend?

  1. IMB announce deficit and mention that this has been going on for six years to a tune of $210 Million.
  2. Research articles in Moody Library Databases and the WEB about the International Mission Board. Can we get to financial reports? (Non-Profit) 
    1. Online articles/editorials address the problems of transparency, questions of how the IMB is spending the money, dismay over the loss relationships built over years by missionaries pulled from the field,  lack of time/warning and loss of missionaries to start and train others to take over the churches, etc.

  3. IMB - How are missionaries salaries funded? How are other mission groups funded?
  4. Who made/makes the decisions to settle this issue?  Trustees?  Who are they? Do they have the experience and education to think this through? Who are the executives during crises and now?  What are their management styles? What is their perspective on the situation.
  5. Are all missionary organizations having this same financial trouble?  Are missionaries being funded by their individial churches and that money is no longer being given to the IMB or Lottie Moon Christmas Offering? 
  6. Is there a way to find out the true number of missionaries from Southern Baptist Churches?  Has the number of those working under the IMB dropped but the number of missionaries stayed the same or risen?
  7. What was the outcome and what are future recommendations to keep this from happening again and to keep SBC members aware of the situation?
