Academic integrity is expected of all students.  This means that all work being submitted for a student's grade is that student's own work and not the work of others.  This includes answers to test items, written assignments, oral presentations, etc.  Academic dishonesty such as cheating on exams, written work, oral presentations, and course assignments violates the very heart of the nature of the University as a Christian Liberal Arts Institution. It is the responsibility of all students, faculty and staff to demonstrate academic integrity.

The Academic Skills Center of Dartmouth College has prepared the following Ten Steps to Academic Success:

1. Set individual academic and personal goals.
2. Choose courses carefully, especially during your first year.
3. Know and use resources.
4. Meet and get to know the faculty.
5. Learn actively.
6. Manage your time well.
7. Know and actively use reading skills.
8. Develop strong listening and note-taking skills.
9. Develop and improve your writing and speaking skills.
10. Get involved in co-curricular activities; learn skills and gain experience.

Writing Center

Our dedicated team of Writing Tutors is trained to support and guide you in your writing endeavors. We will provide you with basic writing tips that you can apply to various writing contexts, helping you to enhance your writing skills, refine your techniques, and overcome any writing challenges you may face. We help with academic papers to help you foster growth and improvement in your writing journey.

Tutoring Center

The Tutoring Center provides academic resources to facilitate your academic success.  Through Tutoring, Workshops, and our Early Alert Referral System, we are here to help you!   As an HCU student, you may use the services and resources for FREE.  Whether you consider yourself to be a good student or not, our services will help you to become a better student. 

Current HCU students serve as peer-tutors in a wide array of subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, History, Latin, Math, Nursing, Philosophy, Physics, Psychology, Spanish, and Writing.  If you would like tutoring for a subject you don’t see listed, contact us and we may be able to find a tutor for you.  We also have a Writing Specialist available to help you organize papers for any class you may be taking.
