Remediate, Correct, opposite of defective, Restore.

Repair, Opposite of Continuing Education, Supplemental Education,

Prerequisite to College. 

Filling the gaps.

Raising skill/ education level.

Teach Students How to Learn-- 

Lit Rev. for  Title V grant.

·         Role of sophomore bridge classes

·         Role of co-requisite remedial courses (as opposed, or as alternative to pre-requisite remedial courses)

·         Role of supplemental instruction in remedial courses

·         Role of book many HCU faculty are reading now – “Teaching Unprepared students”

·         Role of on-line learning as a tool for remediation (referring to current use of ALEKS for Math remediation, but could be expanded to other commercial or custom online tools; doesn’t have to be just a fully online remedial course)

Even thinking about things like... how do we transition students with summer bridge programs?

What about partnerships with high schools to remediate before students arrive?
