In 2010, C-SPAN won its third Peabody Award for the Video Library—now a collection totaling over 262,000 hours of programming first made available to the public for free in 2007. In addition, The Video Library records all three C-SPAN networks seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. Programs are extensively indexed, making the database of C-SPAN programming an unparalleled chronological resource.

CRS approaches complex topics from a variety of perspectives and examines all sides of an issue. Staff members analyze current policies and present the impact of proposed policy alternatives.

GlobalStat takes up this need for publicly available information on developments in a globalised world. Accounting for the multidimensional character of globalisation, sustainability and human development, it presents data on a wide range of topics and from a broad range of international statistical resources. Presenting data as diverse as income distribution, energy consumption, natural disasters, migration, food production, school enrolment or life expectancy materialises this broad perspective. With this approach, GlobalStat contributes to a better understanding of the interrelations between human living conditions and globalisation trends. In this way focusing on the economic, environmental, political, social, societal and cultural performance of nations, GlobalStat supports a ‘beyond GDP perspective’ on globalisation and aims at informing about the way human beings live, the freedoms they enjoy and the limitations they face.

The rate of scientific publication is increasing every year, with more than 3 million papers published across 42,500 journals in 2018 alone. This unprecedented flow of information makes staying up-to-date with the scientific literature an increasingly pressing challenge for scholars.

Semantic Scholar was launched in 2015 as a groundbreaking project at the Allen Institute for AI, a nonprofit research institute founded by philanthropist Paul G. Allen to develop AI that benefits the common good.
