Articles without full-text. What do I do?: Home

Finding journal references.

How to search for a journal title....found from PUBMED

Simply put...

To check to see if we have a journal in this manner:

From the Library Homepage on the Left Side---

Search the 1) Journal Locator if you don't find it there check

2) the online catalog to see if we have a journal.

We can not interlibrary loan an article from a journal that we already have.

Finding the Full-Text

If you have journal reference or citation that is not full text you have several options.

No PDF or HTML:

Even though you may not see the words PDF or HTML you may still have access to the complete article. See (No PDF HTML) Tab Above.

Look for hyperlinked phrases like View From.... This should link you to the article.

Look for a hyperlinked phrase like FullTextFinder@hc.edu  or Find Full Text

This link will take you to the Journal Locator and perform the search for you. Follow looking for year, volume, issues, and page/s.

Journal Locator:

If searching Journal Locator finds the journal... you will see the name of the journal and a list of databases or online links with dates that are covered. Try each link until you find the journal and continue linking to the article.

Library Catalog: (If NOT AVAILABLE AS AN E-Journal) See Not An E-Journal Tab.

Please check the online catalog (Library Homepage, Left Side, Find Books and Media)

Use the drop down menu to pick PERIODICAL and run the search. Do we have the journal bound, on microfiche or film upstairs?

None of these: PDF, HTML, Full Text Finder, or link to another Database:

   Check the Journal Locator.

Check the Catalog limiting to Periodical.  See Not E-Journal Tab.

If the Journal is not found in the catalog (Find Books and Media) or the E-Journals A to Z, fill out an InterLibrary Loan Form for the  article.

If you are looking for an ERIC Document (ED#) or ERIC Journal article see the tab called ERIC.
