Printing at Moody Library: Instructions

Describes the printing methods at the library.

Beginning Basics

  • All students receive $2.00 on their printing account when registering. HCU charges 4ȼ per page for black and white pages (B/w) which means you have 50 pages available to start.

  • You cannot add additional money to the account until it is first used. To add more, go to https://myprint.hbu.edu.

  • Be aware that color printing is $0.46 cents per page (forty-six cents).

How to print from laptops

  1. Where is MyPrint

  2. Logging In

    • Use your username but not your entire email address.
    • Domain: administrative

  3. Uploading Documents

    • NOTE: You cannot print standard webpages. MyPrint only prints PDFs, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX documents that are downloaded to the computer that you are using. Download your document to a folder you can easily find on your computer.
    • Click the Print button at the top of the page. Then, click the "Select File to Upload" button in the center of the page. Find your document and select.
    • This can work with smartphones and tablets so when you upload, MyPrint will look for your default document folder on your device. When ready, click the blue Next button to continue.

  4. Finishing

    • When you are ready, you must click the blue Print Now button to complete the process. Notice that the total pages and cost are displayed. HCU ITS says that you will not be charged anything until the printer ejects your document.

    • Once your job has been sent to printer, the above page will load and you will see a green bar that states that your file has printed successfully.  Only then, will you be charged for your print job.  You will not be charged if no paper prints out. Also, you are NOT charged for separator sheets.

  5. Note about PowerPoint Slides:

    • PowerPoint printouts with 2, 4, 6 slides may not work well for your needs with MyPrint. Also, MyPrint does not give the option for multiple slides with comment lines for taking notes as you see in workshop handouts. If you need that, you may need to consider your overall design and how best to do it.
