Remember:

Different sources will use different forms of a journalist's name.

Danny Pearl may be Daniel Pearl.  Don't forget to search Nicknames.

Assignment:

For class JMC 1323 called The Press and DemocracyGet names approved by professor.

POYNTER JOURNALISTS:

Content:  Biographical information of individual including their impact on media and the most significant news event covered during the journalist’s career.

 Paper length:  1000 words (500 words about journalist/500 words news event).

Paper format:  Typed, double space, Times Roman, 12 point.

Style format: MLA style – Citations of sources in body of paper and work cited page required. A paper without citations receives a grade of F.

 Presentation:  Minimum of 15 PowerPoint slides for presentation.

Submit: printed copy of slides with paper on Thursday of your presentation week.

Each student should write his or her own paper. Together you can share research and prepare the presentation.

 Develop a 10-question quiz from the synopsis and videotape about Tuesday presentation - provide answers on a separate page.

 Develop a 5-question quiz about news event.

 Sources:  Three sources for the journalist and three sources for the news event.

 Deadline: Submit the second day of presentation (Check with Professor).  Also, e-mail Professor a copy before presentation day; check with your profesor.


THE OTHER TWO JOURNALISTS REPORTS

Prepare a written report and oral report for each to share with the class at least 250 words in length.
 Submit both a printed and electronic copy.
Prepare a formal notebook including all the journalists from this group.
