ENG 1303: Catalog & Journals

Catalog Searches Explained-Opens in New Window

Finding Specific Journal Titles- Do not search article titles.

To find specific journal titles:

Try Journal Locator and search by the JOURNAL name.  The library has over ninety databases leading to over 45,000 journals (not articles but specific journals). The Journal Locator shows you which databases carry that journal title. Check to see if the database listed has the correct year/s. Then link into the database and dig down to year, volume and issue needed.

If you don't see your journal, you can try search the Classic Catalog to see if it is listed there.Search by the Journal name and see what format it is in.  It can be on the Current Shelf (2nd Floor), on microfilm or micfrofiche. Ask a Librarian for assistance.

If you cannot gain full-text access and you are interested in an article, then you will need to use the Interlibrary Loan form option (if one is available) or use the Journal Article InterLibrary Loan Request Form. Remember that it might take up to two weeks to get it from another library depending on holiday closures, illness, and/or the mail etc.
