Using E-books

Procedures for how to download E-books to tablets or smartphones. This feature is available to HCU students only.

Springer E-books

Some of the E-books we have in our collection are from Springer Publishing. They specialize in hard and soft sciences. They have an app for Apple products (Android in development).

There is not an Android app at this time. The app is best used for reading on your device. Springer's E-books are downloadable by chapter but must be downloaded to a computer first, then either copied to your device or uploaded to Google Docs, Dropbox, or other cloud service.

Springer's E-books are available in a mobile format. You can visit their web site at http://link.springer.com or use the app. Please note the following:

  1. This app can only be used from on the HCU campus
  2. While any Springer E-book that the library owns can be viewed online, you can also purchase your own copy of any Springer E-book (for a flat fee of $24.95 plus shipping per book).
  3. Feel free to print what you like: one page, a chapter or the whole book.

Future Developments:

  1. Off-campus access.
  2. Expansion of E-PUB format so Springer books can be read on most E-readers.
  3. Android app development.
