Professor: Dr. Kylee J. Short

ABSTRACT:

The purpose of this research is to identify the training differences that different types of music can have on an athlete. This research is based on the theory that music helps to increase athletic performance. A questionnaire regarding listening to music while training will be given to 20 Division I college baseball players at Houston Baptist University. The results will determine how the athlete’s feel while training with music, as well as, how it can affect their physical output. The need for future research is vital so that athletes can start incorporating music into their training sessions to maximize their athletic potential. Music is widely used, but with knowledge of what type of music causes the most positive effect, athletes can start reaping the benefits.
