2. Cardiac Rehabilitation

Alamo, Jose

School of Nursing and Allied Health

Professor: Dr. Kylee J. Short

This research has to do with cardiovascular rehabilitation and the effects that the program brings about. Negative effects can also be caused by the lack of participation of any type of rehabilitation program when one is diagnosed with a cardiovascular disease. Sedentary lifestyles play a huge role in cardiovascular diseases because they increase morbidity and mortality rates. Cardiovascular disease is one of the leading causes of death and is costing countries a fortune. Cardiac rehabilitation is the greatest alternative that should be adopted by all medical institutes/practices. Instead of investing in surgeries, funds should be invested in rehabilitation programs that will not only increase prevention but will increase awareness as well. In order to understand what influences patient’s attendance to a cardiac rehabilitation program we must understand the leading factors. It is imperative to solve the issue from the root, therefore this survey will help provide a better understanding of how factors such as transportation, finances, location, age, nurses participation, and many other factors prevent many patients from seeking the medical assistance needed to recover and become whole again.
