Professor: Dr. Kylee J. Short

 ABSTRACT:

Research shows that football players have significantly low graduation rates. As students, they are entering college with lower average entrance exam scores (both SAT and ACT) than other students and are graduating with lower grade point averages or not graduating at all. Their attitude towards school has a significant impact on their ability to succeed in the classroom. This will be measured by a survey of college minority football players indicating their feeling of their ability to succeed in the classroom as compared to on the football field. Once completed, the survey will be examined to assess the relationship between attitude toward school and their actual success.
